Arthroscopy in Pompano Beach & Coral Springs

TMJ arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that allows the surgeon to examine and treat problems within the temporomandibular joint through very small access points. It can provide a more detailed view of the internal joint while allowing certain conditions to be treated without traditional open-joint surgery.

Arthroscopy may be considered for patients with persistent TMJ pain, limited jaw opening, joint locking, inflammation, adhesions, or internal joint problems that have not improved sufficiently with more conservative treatment. Depending on the condition, the procedure may allow the surgeon to irrigate the joint, release adhesions, and address abnormal or inflamed tissue.

At SFIOS, the decision to perform TMJ arthroscopy is based on a comprehensive evaluation of the patient’s symptoms, imaging, jaw movement, and previous treatment history. Each case is carefully planned to determine whether minimally invasive joint surgery is the appropriate next step.

Our goal is to improve joint mobility, reduce pain, and restore more comfortable function while using the least invasive surgical approach appropriate for the patient’s condition.
