Overbite Correction

Assess the Bite. Reposition the Jaws. Restore the Balance.

More Than Appearance

An overbite can affect more than appearance alone. In some patients, significant bite imbalance can contribute to functional concerns such as chewing difficulty, uneven wear on teeth, jaw strain, and changes in facial proportion. At South Florida Institute of Oral Surgery, overbite correction is carefully evaluated in the context of the overall bite, jaw structure, and facial balance.

TMJ, Jaw Surgery & Airway

When Orthodontics Is Not Enough

When the upper jaw and lower jaw do not relate ideally to one another, orthodontic treatment alone may not always be enough to fully correct the issue. In more severe or structural cases, surgical correction may be recommended to reposition the jaws and improve both form and function.

Orthognathic Surgery

Imaged and Coordinated

Treatment planning begins with advanced imaging, clinical evaluation, and coordination with orthodontic providers when needed. Our goal is to understand how the bite, jaws, and facial structure work together so that we can create a treatment plan designed for long-term improvement.
