Sleep Apnea & Airway

Assess the Anatomy. Open the Airway. Sleep Better.

The Structural Side of Sleep

Airway health plays a major role in both sleep quality and overall wellbeing. In some patients, structural limitations in the jaws or facial skeleton may contribute to airway obstruction, breathing difficulty, or obstructive sleep apnea. At South Florida Institute of Oral Surgery, we evaluate airway-related concerns with a focus on identifying anatomical factors that may be contributing to poor airflow and disrupted sleep.

TMJ, Jaw Surgery & Airway

Symptoms of a Restricted Airway

When the airway is restricted, patients may experience symptoms such as snoring, restless sleep, daytime fatigue, difficulty breathing comfortably, and other health-related concerns associated with sleep-disordered breathing. In certain cases, surgical treatment may be recommended to improve airway dimensions and support more stable, efficient breathing.

Jaw Alignment Surgery

Jaw Position and Airway Anatomy

Our surgeons use advanced imaging and detailed evaluation to assess jaw position, facial structure, and airway anatomy. This information helps determine whether surgical intervention may play a role in improving the patient’s condition, either alone or as part of a broader treatment plan.

Function and Quality of Life

At South Florida Institute of Oral Surgery, our goal is to help patients understand the structural side of airway health and explore treatment options that may improve both function and quality of life. Careful diagnosis and coordinated planning are central to achieving meaningful results in these cases.
